ECOLEBAN is a project consortium integrated by TECNALIA Research and Innovation, Spain funded and supervised by European Commission under SWITCH Asia program. ECOLEBAN is a 4-year project (2014-2018) working in improving the resource efficiency and sustainability of the leather sector in Bangladesh.
LETSB and ECOLEBAN signed an official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 1, 2016 in collaborating on joint action to increase the number of less polluting and more resource efficient leather and leather related products by applying environmental management system (ISO 140001) and the life cycle approaches (LCA, Eco-Labeling).
Mr. Minhaz Ahmed Chowdhury, President, LETSB and Mr. Javier Del Pozo, Project Director, ECOLEBAN signed over the MoU on behalf of the organizations respectively. A dinner event was offered by ECOLEBAN to hand over the MoU to each partner on November 21, 2016.
We see the MoU very prospective for the member of LETSB to develop themselves using this knowledge-sharing platform of ECOLEBAN.
